After the spectacular premiere of the show at Warsaw's COS Torwar, which was attended by nearly 5,000 viewers fascinated by the film and music, the filmmakers plan to carry out a world-wide tour starting with several major cities in Poland.
From the very beginning we felt that this project had the potential to become something timeless and groundbreaking. We knew that the production would reach people who, on the one hand, love literature and painting and the roots of Slavic culture, and on the other, are looking for modern, ambitious artistic projects,” emphasizes Lukasz L.U.C. Rostkowski, composer, co-author and conductor of the show “Peasants - Dance Remixed.” There is a reason why the next city where we want to present the show is Wroclaw. I spent 15 years of my life there, and I have a great fondness for this city, which has endowed me with incredible warmth and energy.
EXHIBITION OF UNIQUE PAINTINGS
PEASANTS DANCE REMIXED is a cinematic story told through dance, live music and modern illuminations inspired by the film “Peasants,” which was created using the painterly animation technique.
The technique prolonged the filmmaking process from about two years to more than five, but made it possible to show the Polish literary classic in a completely new light. The novel “The Peasants” is filled with descriptions of nature, the laws of nature, delight in life, the land and man. Thanks to painterly expression rather than a simple repainting of the frames, it was possible to highlight and saturate the emotions and beauty of nature in the changing seasons in the film.
During the production, some 1,800 unique paintings came out from under the hands of the painters, and dozens of them will be seen live at the exhibition accompanying the show!
The exhibition includes unique works from key scenes of the film, as well as paintings inspired by masterpieces of Polish and European masters such as J. Chelmonski's “The Storm” and J. Vermeer's “The Milkmaid.”
A ticket to the show entitles you to free admission to the accompanying exhibition. The exhibition will be held in the Imperial Hall.
