Oil painting from the film The Peasants - "Jasio in the forest. I'm coming from home".
A wide shot from a scene in the forest. Although it is an “outdoor” scene, it was filmed entirely in a studio against a green and blue background. The only elements of the set design were grass and a piece of tree trunk that Jasio was leaning against. Throughout the scene, we used two paintings by Ivan Shishkin as inspiration for the background: “Oak Grove” from 1887 and “Rain in an Oak Forest” from 1891. The latter painting was used a little later for shots with Kozłowa. For the sequence with Jasio and Jagna, we used both the canvas “Oak Grove” and a 3D-generated environment. Jasio's pose at the beginning of the scene was loosely inspired by Wojciech Weiss's painting “Melancholic”. The shot was painted by Serbian artist Dragana Nikolic, who was very fond of shots with this actor. In total, she painted six shots with Maciej Musiał, including four from this scene.
