A wide shot of the scene in front of the mill, where the residents of Lipce are shopping. In the background, you can see the mill wheel and the river into which Matthew fell in winter. The scene was filmed in a studio on a green screen with partial set design (the mill wall and door). The rest of the outdoor setting was created during the image composition stage. Like other wide shots, this one required a great deal of patience from the animator — animating many very small faces is never easy or quick.
